Dramatis Personae (a.k.a Cast): Updated November 5, 2005
+++Main Characters+++
Gale
... is your fairly average, spunky, semi-animalistic girl. She quests after the recipe for the perfect cake, for reasons unknown to any but herself. Easily recognizable by her catlike features, when she dons the tie and fedora she transforms into Bloodcherry, the (in)famous, bubblegum-gun enabled, impetuous and fearsome leader of the Cake Mafia gang, a volunteer-run (hah!) organization based in Windy City!
Age: 50 (She isn't human. D: )
Height/Weight: 5'3"/105 lbs.
Hobbies: Hugging people, apparently. Stealing cake recipes, obviously.
Likes: Palomir, cake, stealing assorted objects (including HEARTS [/cheese]), lemons, root beer, and the color blue, the smell of incense, rainy days. Barging into homes uninvited.
Dislikes: Being stolen from, people interrupting her.
Skills: Remarkable talent for bullying normally sane people into obeying her fantastical whims.

Mirhalas Palomir
...is an elf currently attending classes at Waerongaarde University, located in the upper level branches of Windy City. He's a real pragmatic kind of guy, really, so it's anyone's guess why he lets Gale boss him around like this. . . Maybe she slipped something into his tea or something. He knows her because she lives in the same apartment building he does, although he doesn't know what floor.
Age: 333 years (He IS an elf, you know.)
Height/Weight: 5'10/145 lbs.
Hobbies: Astronomy, history, religion, reading, languages. Playing chess, sports (tennis, soccer, martial arts), writing.
Likes: Keeping his underwear in check, hanging out with his friends (nonexistent as they are -- I mean uhh).
Dislikes: Being told he looks like a girl, people trying to hook him up with strangers, Gale touching him constantly in public, being forced to interact with people he doesn't like. Being ribbed by Erias. Being told he's too thin.
Skills: Fairly intellectual. Good at languages. Reasonably skilled at several kinds of physical activities.

+++Minor Characters+++
Wigol Erias is Palomir's mild-mannered, slightly hedonistic, somewhat distant cousin; unusually for elves, dark hair is characteristic of the Mirhalases, so as he's blond, it's sort of easy to tell that they're not closely related. He finished university ages ago himself, and doesn't hesitate to poke fun at Palomir for having dropped out way back when, and not resuming his tertiary education until now (not that it makes any particular difference -- Palomir's doing this for the degree, and not the education, since he's had more than enough time to learn on his own).

World:
Windy City
... So far, all the action takes place in the relatively unassuming town of Windy City, a vertically-inclined metropolis that's a regular amalgam of old and new. It hasn't become apparent in the comic yet, but a majority of Windy City is located on the branches of an immense tree whose base the grounded part of the town is built on. The name Windy City is a bit ironic, considering that there's often hardly any wind on the ground; a massive, circular wall has been built around the city's base to protect the people from the sandstorms that regularly coast around the area every few decades, eroding at everything in its path.

The city is suprisingly modern, and since the days of the very first underground tunnel connecting it to the other cities of the continuent, it manages to keep good contact with the outside world, even with the temperamental weather it frequently experiences.
